Setting up Microsoft Outlook and Other Email options
For VCSWEB Hosting Clients

Setting up the Reply-To Field

The following settings are purely optional, but you have already gone to the time and expense of registering a domain name and setting up the required Email accounts that it only takes one more step to help maximize your investment in the form of ‘Advertising’

1. In Outlook Express, select Tools:

Your screen should now look like the picture above

2 Select “Accounts

Your screen should now look like the picture above

3: Repeat the following steps for ALL of the accounts in your list.

3a : Highlight the account name and click on “Properties”

3b: If Necessary Click on the “General“ Tab

Modify the input fields as follows:

Mail Account:

This is for your reference only - This will show on your 'folders' menu.

Use something meaningful such as “MyISP” or “MyDomain”.

Organization:

Enter your business name here.

Email Address & Reply Address:

Although these have two slightly different meanings (see section on comparisons between Postal Mail and Email) these should generally be set to your preferred email address, eg, yourname@yourdomain.com and NOT yourname@yourISP.com (after all, we wish to promote your business, not your ISP’s.

This also gives your Emails a more ‘professional’ appearance.

Do not leave any of these fields empty (otherwise you will be ‘promoting’ your ISP rather than your own business.

Ensure the “Include this account when synchronizing” is checked.
